Early reinnervation of facial muscles after removal of large and giant vestibular schwannomas

Removal of large and giant vestibular schwannomas is associated with the risk paresis facial muscles. The probability anatomical damage to nerve 10.3–14.0%. Treatment mimic muscle paralysis one most difficult problems in reconstructive surgery. In this study, results neurotization by masticatory were evaluated 4 patients after its during removal schwannomas. Neurotization was carried out 10–14 days tumor removal. With direct all patients, it possible achieve function muscles, corresponding grade II–III according House–Brackmann scale. use an autoinsert from greater ear led a worse result (House–Brackmann IV).
